Disappointment and not getting the job

There are many things that go into searching for a job.  Probably the biggest one is knowing what kind of job you want, it is always good to know what you are looking for! Another vital aspect of job hunting is strategy which is important because you want to do the right things in your job search.  Strategy saves time and keeps you on the right track. There are also resumes, cover letters and of course networking which some folks believe is one thing that can help you the most in finding a job.  While all these things are very important you also have to have the right mindset especially in dealing with disappointment.
As you know in this economy getting an interview is almost as tough as getting a job offer.  A request for an interview can make your hopes sky high and your anxiety sky high also.  You want to do well in the interview because it may be a while before the next one comes along.  So you practice and practice and go into the interview and do a great job.  You feel good about yourself and hope you will be hearing from them soon, hopefully for another interview.
Unfortunately your hopes are dashed as you receive a notice that you didn’t get the job. We have all been there and it isn’t fun.  This is where a strong mindset comes into play. No matter how difficult it is you must forget about it and go on with your job search.  Negative thoughts about rejection will not only slow you down but they will also zap you of energy, which is something you don’t need.  I know that it is difficult but you have to get back to looking for work and forget about the things that didn’t work out.
