Do you match the job description?

After looking at many job search sites on the web you finally find one that looks very interesting. Not only is it in the job field that you want but you have heard that the company is terrific to work for. You check the education requirements and it seems to be a perfect match for you, that’s great. Now you check out so of the duties of the job. Unfortunately there are some things listed in the job description that your work experience really doesn’t match. Should you give up and get back of the web scouring job sites or should you pursue this job even if you credentials fit the job description?
One thing to keep in mind when looking over a job description on a website is that the company is putting down everything they would like to see in an employee. But nothing is written in stone, if you have overwhelming experience in one area that might make them forget what you are lacking in.
So do you bring it up or let them bring it up in the interview?
It is best to be ready to answer any questions about experience that you have or don’t have. Always try to emphasize your great experience and achievement. Most employers would want to pass up on someone that stands out from the crowd. Skills can be taught after you are hired so don’t worry if there are a few things that don’t match on your resume to the job description.
