LinkedIn and job searching

You probably are tired of hearing about the internet and the World Wide Web and how everything in life seems to circle around it especially when it comes to looking for a job. But it is true you better become internet savvy if you are going to find a job today unless you know the president of the company you want to work for. Using social media sites gets your name out there and at the same time you can see how other folks are working the net to get a job. One of the most important sites that you have to be on is LinkedIn.

  • Probably the most important reason to be on LinkedIn is having your name on a site that millions of people and potential employers will see. Facebook is good but for jobs LinkedIn is the best site.
  • You can find a list of people that work at the company that you are trying to get hired at. Great information to know before starting any interview
  • LinkedIn has a good search engine rating on Google
  • You can set up a connection with other people (networking) on LinkedIn.
  • You can research potential employers.
  • You can also get notifications about job openings.
  • There is also LinkedIn groups that you can follow.

So it is definitely worth your while to join LinkedIn, the professional social networking site.
