Blogging for information

I haven’t been blogging long only since January of this year. But I can’t believe how much I have learned in such a short period of time.

I had considered blogging for years but I really didn’t understand what it was all about. I thought that blogging was just like keeping an online diary. I had no reason or desire to do that and besides I had little spare time to do any blogging.

At the end of last year I went on disability for my meniere’s disease during that time I wondered what I would do if my condition got worse and I had to be on disability permanently. Or even what would happen if I didn’t go on permanent disability and I lost my present job. How would I find another job, with my health problems and the fact that I am over fifty.

I needed answers.

I searched the internet and found many websites and surprisingly many more blogs dealing with the same problems that I had. At this point I thought that I could just read all about my health problems and my unsteady employment situation from other blogs. But then I realized that I could start my own blogs on these issues that are so important to me.

So I started a blog on being unemployed and over fifty, another on sleep apnea and one more on Meniere’s disease. Not only do I research these issues but I also have a lot of personal information to contribute. It has been an incredibly fulfilling experience for me as I found out that there are so many people in the same boat that I am.
